Three Philadelphia GAA stalwarts to be honored in 2016 St. Patrick's Day Parade
The Philadelphia GAA will be marching in the 2016 Philadelphia St. Patrick's Day Parade on Sunday, March 13. We're thrilled that three avid Philadelphia GAA supporters, Paul Doris, Siobhan Trainor, and Eileen Daly are being honored in this year's parade.
Paul is this year's Grand Marshall. He was a founding member of the Shamrocks Football Club and helped found and coached the Notre Dame Ladies Gaelic Football Club. He also served as chairman of the Philadelphia Divisional Board. His favorite team remains the Clonoe O’Rahilly’s.
Siobhan Trainor and Eileen Daly will be marching alongside Paul as part of this year's Ring of Honor.
Siobhan served on the Philadelphia Divisional Board and the Youth Board, and volunteered as secretary for Philadelphia Eire Og GFC. She's a lifetime supporter of her hometown team, Coalisland Fianna.
Eileen, like Paul and Siobhan, will never forget her Tyrone roots. Although the Clonoe O'Rahillys will always be closest to her heart, she never missed a chance to cheer on the Notre Dame LGFC and Kevin Barry's GFC .
Join the Philadelphia GAA for an after parade party at The Granary (1901 Callowhill Street). Admission is $30 and tickets must be bought in advance. There will be food, drink, and live music by Raymond McGroary.
